FAA_PMA TWIN CESSNA STC MODIFICATION
ATTENTION: All twin Cessna owners, operators, and Fixed Base Operators (FBO), there is a new, approved FAA STC modification available to enhance and simplify the repairs of corrosion damage in the aft flap cove rear spar caps of twin Cessna aircraft.
This corrosion problem is caused by hot exhaust gases being trapped in low pressure areas of the wing. These gases are caustic and in time cause damage to both the exterior and interior components, thus affecting wing structural integrity.
The STC Modification Kit is being introduced by Skymech LLC, of Arlington WA, to allow repair of this type of damage. This kit features three options; a short, medium, and long spar cap replacement. These options provide a considerable cost savings, depending on the amount of damage that must be repaired.
Experience has shown that the use of this kit, on the repair of three different aircraft resulted in 30% to 40% savings versus repairs using parts from traditional sources. The most important value, though, comes from an excellent wing repair, and an aircraft that is once more safe to fly.
